The owners of the Center are sisters
Debra George and Carol Yurick, and are native to the area. The center is
situated in a house that was built by their grandparents in 1920. Debbie
and Carol at the center will strive to facilitate awareness of many
modalities of treatment in this stressful and changing world. The Golden Light Wellness Center was established in 1999.
Debra George is a Registered Occupational Therapist, licensed in Pennsylvania and Delaware. In her O.T. practice, she has gained much experience in the field of pediatrics and shares her knowledge and expertise through teaching children's stress classes and Draw to Write handwriting classes. Debbie is Certified with the Interactive Metronome program. In addition she holds a second Bachelors degree in Therapeutic Recreation. Debbie graduated from Health Alliance School for massage in 1998 and is a Certified Massage Therapist through the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals. Her massage techniques involve a combination of Swedish and Indian techniques. To add to the massage, Debbie is has completed Master level Usui Reiki and Master level Mah'heo'o Reiki. She uses the Reiki energy to which she has been attuned during the massages that she gives. She is also a Certified Infant Massage Instructor and teaches parents how to massage their babies, birth to pre-crawling. Debbie has also received training in seated massage, ear candling, face massage, heated stone massage, cranial sacral therapy and raindrop therapy technique.
Carol Yurick is a Certified Reiki Master/Teacher
of Usui Reiki. She is also a Master of Mah'Heo'O Reiki.
Carol does Reiki sessions on an individual basis at the wellness center, helping each client to heal.
She also teaches and gives attunements in all levels of Reiki.
Carol is certified in grief counseling from Jeannes Hospital in
Philadelphia, PA and has had training with Hospice. Carol
began her study of spirituality, life after death and grief after the
death of her 22-year-old daughter in 1995. She has completed a
Leadership Training Program with The Compassionate Friends. Carol
has completed a Bachelor of Metaphysics, is an ordained Metaphysical
Minister, Certified Spiritual Counselor and is working to obtain her
Doctorate of Metaphysics in Counseling. Carol is also the knitting
instructor, having knitted since she was a child.
